I know what you may be thinking at this point in the challenge: You ever play with any current WWE wrestlers, old man? My response? Four letters, one word! YEET! In case you're not in the know, that means I'm about to step into the ring with the one, the only "Main Event" Jey Uso!
It has been outstanding to witness Jey's evolution from tag team specialist to one of the most popular wrestlers in the business. WWE 2K25 does him justice. In this video, I joke that when in doubt, I superkick. That's not incorrect. After peppering the opponent with kicks, you can land the spear.
Running finishers are always strong in WWE 2K, and the spear is the best of the best. The timing window to reverse it is so small, and most opponents will struggle to do so. I'd argue any wrestler with a spear as a finisher is basically top-tier.
There's almost a dance routine around hitting finishers in this game, and using the spear gets around all that. If a wrestler has a spear as a super finisher, it's usually GG. If you haven't played in the past two years, some wrestlers can store three finisher icons to initiate a super finisher.
Examples include Cody Rhodes' Cross Rhodes Trinity, Randy Orton's Avalanche RKO, and Rhea Ripley's Avalanche Riptide. I usually play these by ear. If I'm doing well enough in the match and don't think I'm danger of eating a pin, I'll save the finishers up to decisively end the match. If my opponent is matching me blow for blow I'll go the finisher immediately.
