In an unexpected turn of events, the runners-up from the Chinese region, Wolves Esports, would get a hard 2-0 win over the favourites Gen.G in the first match of the upper semifinals.

The Pacific region team, hailing from South Korea, would be the favourites of this seemingly one-sided match-up.

Map one would look like a dominant match with Gen.G having the lead for the majority of the map.

Gen.G’s lead would be 10-2 at the half, and T3xture had an amazing performance at the half, leading his team with 16 Kills, 6 Deaths and a single assist.

However, the lead wouldn’t last as Wolves would win round after round and would take the lead, building it brick by brick and taking the map from Gen.G.

Spring would get Map MVP with 19 Kills, 12 Deaths and 6 Assists.

With Gen.G feeling frustrated they wanted to secure their lead, but Wolves Esports wanted to put up a fight and get an upset over the Pacific team.

Heading into map two, Gen.G would start strong again and gain a lead, though it wouldn’t be as big as map one.

They would be dominant on the attack consistently fighting for picks and T3xture would be the one who would show some fight as Neon and would go into the half with 16 Kills, 7 Deaths and 4 Assists.

Gen.G would lead 8-4 and Wolves Esports needed a spark plug, something that would ignite them into a comeback.

Going into round 13, the first round of the second half Wolves Esports would get a crazy pistol round with a B site push and Yuicaw getting a four Kill round.

Gen.G would come with an excellent eco round getting Wolves Esports guns in the process, but that round wouldn’t give the Korean team the momentum they needed.

Wolves Esports would get another miraculous comeback winning 8 rounds in a row, gaining the lead, securing it and closing out the match.

Gen.G just couldn’t secure their leads in the first half in both maps and suffered for it.

Wolves would move on into the upper finals to try and secure a spot in the grand finals and would face the winner between Americas Sentinels or Pacific Paper Rex.
