No. 5 - Contact!

There were a number of Master quests I contemplated putting here as potential Grandmaster quests, namely Beneath Cursed Sands and Secrets of the North. A Night at the Theatre is also a unique one to consider, given its Theatre of Blood raid requirement.

But none of them moved the needle quite like Sins of the Father, so I went with another Experienced quest that I would advocate as a Master quest.

Even in RuneScape 3, where some of the game’s older quests with simpler combat mechanics are considered even easier than they are in OSRS, Contact! is classified as a Master quest, and given the fact that there are a number of Master quests in OSRS which are far easier than this one, it’s not a stretch to suggest that it should be moved up.

And there are other much less challenging candidates that should have been moved down instead.

The boss fight with the Giant Scarab can prove to be a challenge, particularly when it summons its Ranged and Magic minions, and simply getting to the fight is no easy task. One mistake in the Sophanem Dungeon could trigger a trip that sends you to almost certain death in the dungeon filled with aggressive monsters below.

Contact!, best known for its Keris dagger reward, is an underrated classic that was one of the final quests released before August 2007, which is what OSRS was originally based on.

When the game was first released, it was an exact copy of the original RuneScape as it had existed on that date, and at that point, Contact! was easily one of its most challenging quests.
