No. 4 - Legends’ Quest
Legends’ Quest is a perfect example of the discrepancy between what was considered a Master quest two decades ago and, in a number of cases, what is considered an Experienced quest now.
There are quite a few modern Experienced quests that are unequivocally more challenging than Legends’ Quest. But this quest’s difficulty rating is a product of its time.
It was the 50th quest to be released, and it was the final quest to be released before the launch of RuneScape 2. It was the longest and hardest quest in the game at the time, and for that reason, it was the first quest to be given a Master rating.
Admittedly, the journey is still one of the longest quest journeys in OSRS, even in 2025. But the quest’s three fights with Nezikchened are immensely straightforward, especially in modern times, and the fact that it’s literally the same fight three times over adds to that fact.
Make no mistake about it. Back in the day, this was the quest, and access to the Legends’ Guild was a massive deal. Doing it in the modern game is still undoubtedly one of the most nostalgic questing experiences one can have. But if this quest were to be released today, it would be borderline Experienced.
