The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is full of cities, towns, and smaller settlements to explore. The island of Vvardenfell has a ton of great places to explore, from Ashlander Camps to grand cities. some of the best of the towns in the entire Elder Scrolls franchise made their mark on players in Morrowind.

5. Ebonheart

Ebonhearrt is the seat of power for the Empire in Morrowind. It is very similar to the Imperial City or other towns in Cyrodiil. The Duke of Morrowind resides here, as does the Imperial Cult. The questlines for many of the major guilds and houses have a stop in Ebonheart, and is the main source of quests for the Imperial Cult.

4. Gnisis

Gnisis has two main attractions: the Tribunal Temple quest, and the Imperial Legion. The Legion's quests begin here, as well as two of the seven shrines required for joining the Temple being in the area.

3. Sadrith Mora

Far to the east, Sadrith Mora is an island town, home to Wolverine Hall and House Telvanni. The major guilds have spots here, providing a great amount of quests for the town. The unique architecture of House Telvanni is on full display, giving Sadrith Mora a great atmosphere, and a profound juxtaposition between Telvanni's architecture and Wolverine Hall.

2. Balmora

The main quest constantly returns to Balmora, as the leader of the Blades in Morrowind resides here. All the guilds are represented in some way, as is House Hlaalu. Balmora has tons of quests, as well as an Imperial fort nearby for the Legion. Balmora is possibly the most important town in the game, with no shortage of character.

1. Ald-Ruhn

Ald=Ruhn has guilds, house quests, and some great side quests. But what really goes in its favor is character. Ald-Ruhn is incredible. The architecture of the buildings, the manor district, and the quests all go into making a town with real personality. Dust storms are a common sight in Morrowind, and when Ald-Ruhn is caught in one, it is quite a sight.
