No. 4 - Recipe for Disaster
Recipe for Disaster is another landmark quest, as it was the 100th quest to enter the game, and it entered in the form of 10 subquests, including a few challenging ones requiring that additional high-level quests be completed.
The eight subquests between the introduction and the main boss encounter are only truly related in that the NPCs are all frozen in time during the feast at Lumbridge Castle, so there is a wide range of separate quests you need to do before freeing each individual.
The quest is the game’s only quest listed as “Special” as opposed to a regular difficulty. The boss encounter is also a one-of-a-kind encounter, with the player matched up against six different bosses that must be defeated one at a time, and without the aid of prayers.
The first five of the six bosses are representative of bosses fought from other quests required to get to this point. Agrith-Na-Na is similar to Agrith-Naar from Shadow of the Storm, the Gelatinnoth Mother is similar to the Dagannoth Mother from Horror from the Deep, and Flambeed, Karamel and Dessourt are similar to Fareed, Kamil, and Dessous, respectively, from the original Desert Treasure.
The Culinaromancer is simply the Culinaromancer, and his attacks are far more accurate than his combat level of 75 would indicate. He also attacks quickly, so don’t get caught off guard.
While you can’t use prayers, you can restock after beating each boss, if needed. And as a side note, if Special didn’t exist as a rating, this is probably a Master-level quest.
