No. 9 - Mourning's End Part II

Here’s another worthy exception to the “sequel” rule, though this one is not a new release. The mere mention of “Mourning’s End Part II” – specifically the “Part II” – is enough to make some ‘Scapers cringe, given just how complicated the light puzzle is.

But it’s undoubtedly a quest that deserves a spot on this list for that reason, as it’s hard to forget maneuvering your way through the Temple of Light with all of those mirrors and colored crystals.

Sometimes, however, it’s easy to forget what step you’re on, which can be a major problem and is the main reason why attempting this quest has long been feared. That’s not to mention that there are obstacles you can fail, depending on your Agility level, plus Shadows attacking you throughout the temple.

Sure, the light puzzle in Song of the Elves, which is the next quest in the Elf series, is even more complicated, but that quest is a more modern addition to the game and isn't nearly as iconic as the original, even if it’s not technically the original Mourning’s End quest.

Part I one has an entirely different feel to it and probably doesn’t deserve to be a Master quest, but that’s a subject for another day.
