No. 7 - Beneath Cursed Sands
Beneath Cursed Sands, from start to finish, is one of the top overall quests in OSRS, and as somebody who took part in Quest Speedrunning before actually getting into OSRS, I am grateful for the fact that this is one of the 15 quests included.
This is a Master quest that has two uniquely tough boss fights and could arguably be considered a Grandmaster quest because of the challenges each fight presents.
The Champion of Scabaras, with its Shadow Burst, Shadow Rift, and Shadow Flames special attacks, is a final boss-level boss that isn’t even the quest’s final boss. You need quick reflexes to deal with its three punishing specials, and chances are you may find yourself out of run energy if you don’t bring a stamina potion.
Speaking of fast reflexes, you will need them in the earlier part of the tomb just to reach the boss, as you have only 60 seconds to pull the levers on opposite sides of the corridor while dodging flying projectiles coming at you from four different directions.
The actual final boss of the quest, the Menaphite Akh, is a little bit less complicated than the Champion, but it can be just as punishing if you fail to recognize her ensuing lightning bolt attack when she twitches. Again, fast reflexes are needed to succeed.
