The Paper Rex Express is chugging through VCT Masters Toronto, but it has to make a stop at the edge of the losers' bracket mountain as they are faced with Wolves Esports.

The winner of the match would secure the first spot in the Grand Final, while the loser would have to face the winner of G2 Esports vs FNATIC.

The two had been on a hot streak in the tournament and would win over the fans in Toronto, with both sides being cheered on at the Enercare Centre.

These two teams faced each other before in the VCT off-season tournament “Shanghai Esports Masters” in 2024.

This was when Mindfreak was still playing on Paper Rex before becoming an assistant coach for the team.

Wolves Esports would be the ones to win that match, and they looked to continue their hot streak against the PRX train.

Heading into Map One on Lotus, it would be Paper Rex’s pick.

It was a back-and-forth match where no lead was safe.

Wolves Esports had everything to prove in this match and wanted to show that they were on par with the Rex Express.

Wolves would have the lead at first, but it wasn’t a significant lead, as heading into the second half, the score would be 7-5 with Yuicaw leading Wolves with 13 kills, 8 deaths and a single assist.

The second half would start, and Paper Rex would reverse the tides and gain a comeback as they would go on a 7-5 round run, mirroring the first half, but this time in their favour.

Paper Rex would force overtime and win Map One.

Paper Rex’s D4v41 would get map MVP with 26 kills, 16 deaths and 10 assists.

Wolves Esports had brought the fight to Paper Rex and would look to push this to a map-three series.

Heading into map two, it would be Wolves Esports map pick, Ascent.

Wolves Esports looked strong in the opening rounds of the map, but Paper Rex would close out the first half with a strong lead, with a score of 8-4.

Wolves didn’t look like the energetic team that would stand and talk after a round; instead, they were quiet, and the silence was palpable on the fan side of Wolves Esports.

Wolves Esports wouldn’t be able to mount a comeback and would lose the match 13-8 with D4v41 getting match MVP with a total of 40 kills, 31 deaths and 14 assists.

They fall to the losers' bracket and earn a spot in the losers' final.
