Just a few days ago, a prominent leaker by the name of Kurakasis, over on X, tweeted out a statement, "A big Star Wars game announcement is coming very soon. And just to be clear, this announcement has nothing to do with Star Wars: Zero Company or Eclipse." (X) This sent fans into a frenzy, with many believing this would be the remake that we have not seen in four years. Others speculated that it could be Jedi 3, the sequel to Jedi Survivor. A day later, Kurakasis updated his statement with this: "The title of this game ends with 'The Old Republic'" (X)
According to legal documents and testimony from the Vice President of Lucasfilm Games, Project Juliet was a codename for Knights of the Old Republic II, another remake. That is set to use modern art, gameplay, and hardware, and would include cut content. (Kotaku)
About 2 hours before The Game Awards started, leaker Kurakasis revealed that, "The title is NOT 'KNIGHTS of the Old Republic'" (X). Meaning whatever it is, hopefully it's an AAA title. Whatever is revealed at the Game Awards, we still know the Remake and the sequel are in development.
The announcement turned out to be Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. The game is going to be directed by Casey Hudson, behind the original Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect games. It will be a new single-player action role-playing game. You can watch the new trailer here.
According to Starwars.com, Fate of the Old Republic will be "Blending innovative storytelling, memorable characters, and heart-pounding combat, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic will immerse you in an unforgettable experience where every decision deepens your journey toward the light…or the darkness." (SW.com)
According to Hudson, "Fate of the Old Republic represents an opportunity to explore a contemporary vision of a definitive Star Wars experience, using state-of-the-art technology and game design, and an all-new story crafted specifically to deliver on the combination of player agency and immersion in Star Wars that was at the heart of KOTOR.” (SW.com)
Hudson continues, “Our goal is developing the kind of games I love making: emotionally powerful, cinematic adventures driven by player agency, narrative depth, and immersive world-building..."

We did not get the Remake we were hoping for, but we are getting a new game set in the Old Republic era, which, if the rumors are true, means it's one of three. That's not including the Eclipse, Amy Hennig, or third Jedi games.
