SMITE 2 is the latest offering in the Hi Rez Studios series that sees deities battling each other MOBA-style. Its universe just got a little bigger with the addition of Princess Bari, the Divine Mudang. She's the first Korean goddess to enter the game.
Bari rose from being an unwanted daughter to a divine savior of souls. She is a bridge between the worlds of the living and the dead. By accumulating spirit, she can gain the power to cast her gamechanging abilities for free.
Inspired by Korean shamanic rites, Bari's bells can be lobbed and sent through enemies for damage, crowd control, and mobility.
Bari's ultimate is called Spirit's Cadence, and with it she performs a triple pulse dance that slows enemies and grants allies Guardian Spirits, negating lethal damage for 1.5 seconds. That may be just enough time to turn a losing battle around. It also activates a 10 second mystic surge, allowing Bari to cast a rapid volley of spells.
Her kit mixes pokes, setups, and rescues for a support that can turn things around in the blink of an eye, or perhaps more appropriately, the ring of a bell?
The future of Smite 2 is now the future of Hi-Rez Studios, as in February it laid off most of its workforce and ceased updates for Smite 1, Paladins, and Rogue Company. The servers for those titles will remain online for now. This was Hi-Rez's third round of layoffs, bringing an end to those three titles and apparently Smite's eSports aspirations as well.
