MIBR and BilliBilli Gaming (BLG) return to the international stage in VCT Champions Paris 2025.
Both teams left Toronto with a disappointing run in the group stage and would return to their regions trying to make up for the losses in Toronto.
BLG would return with a vengeance and would make a lengthy run into the playoffs, which led to them facing off against Dragon Ranger Gaming (DRG) in the grand finals of China Stage Two, which they won, completing their redemption arc and moving forward to preparing for Paris.
As for MIBR, they wouldn’t have the redemption arc most fans were thinking of.
Aspas and company would try to make the playoffs of Americas Stage Two, but would have a losing record of 2-3, failing to make it to the playoffs, but they would have enough Championship Points to qualify for VCT Champions Paris.
Now back on the international stage, the Champions from China will have to face MIBR, a team that is looking for a final run at redemption to end the season.
To start this match, BLG would get the first map pick and choose Haven.
BLG haven't had the best season on Haven, with a 5-9 record and a 36 per cent win rate, as for MIBR, they would have a better record of 3-4 and a win rate of 43 per cent.
BLG’s weaknesses would be out in the open as the champions of China were blown out of the water by MIBR.
MIBR would immediately win the match, without breaking a sweat, with a score of 13-2, the first blowout win of the tournament.
MIBR’s Verno would get map MVP with 18 kills, 3 deaths and 3 assists.
MIBR looked strong after embarrassing BLG in map one, and they would enter map two with added confidence.
MIBR would get the second map pick and choose Corrode.
BLG have only played it twice and would end up with a 50 per cent win rate on Corrode, while MIBR would play this once and get the win with a perfect win rate percentage.
MIBR would be on the attacking side, and BLG would start this map on the defensive side.
This time around, BLG were more focused as they would start the first half with a 5-3 lead over MIBR.
Though MIBR would tie the match up, BLG would close out the first half with the lead by winning the final two rounds, ending the first half 7-5.
BLG’s Knight would be ahead of all players leading into the second half with 11 kills, 6 deaths and 2 assists.
With both teams switching sides, BilliBilli Gaming would try to extend their lead, but MIBR would quickly snuff out any chance of a lead from BLG.
MIBR would start the second half winning the first two rounds to tie it up and would extend to an 8-2 win streak.
Demolishing BLG and securing the win, and sweeping the China regions champion.
MIBR would finally start their road to redemption and move on into the group stage, where one more win would solidify a playoff berth.
While BilliBilli Gaming have to climb their way up if they want to make it to the playoffs.
BLG will be in an elimination match between the loser of Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) vs FNATIC, and whoever wins will face Aspas and the rest of MIBR.
