I know I've been excited about the announcement of Star Wars Zero Company, and we have some confirmation that I'm not even close to alone. It's the 10th most wishlisted strategy game on Steam, according to Strategy and Wargaming.

The turn-based tactics game comes from Bit Reactor, a studio filled with veterans of strategy franchises including XCOM and Civilization. In this title set during the Clone Wars, you step in as Hawks, a disgraced Republic officer now leading Zero Company through a war fought "in the shadows."

Zero Company's members range from astromechs to Jedi, and all will have a role to play in this galaxy-spanning conflict. Higher difficulties will include permadeath and limited saves, so your tactics will need to be perfect.

As Bit Reactor explained during last year's Star Wars Celebration Japan, the Clone Wars setting allows for all types of wild scenarios. One mission might see your team infiltrating a Separatist base, while another might task you with raiding a pirate outpost. These are the earliest stages of the conflicts that set the stage for the Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader era many of us grew up on.

After not hearing about Zero Company for a while, fans have been concerned. One voiced their concerns on X, and Bit Reactor themselves reached out to assure us all that it's still coming.

That's the best possible news from the most accurate source imaginable. Hopefully Star Wars Zero Company is on target for the 2026 release date we've been hearing since its initial announcement.
