Game showcases are always fun, but after every one, there's at least one game that jumps to the forefront. For Sony's State of Play, that game was pirate-themed RPG Sea of Remnants. Your hero is an amnesiac sailor who leads a crew of well.. puppets on an adventure to find a sea with untold treasure.

You'll sail the seas, upgrade your pirate ship, and engage in turn-based battles as you explore

vast oceans. Developer Joker Studio said no two captains will experience the same journey thanks to all the choices available. Those decisions will affect the world around you and the lives of your loyal puppet crew.

Sea of Remnants boasts over 300 characters in multiple factions with different personalties. You can beg their favor, ally with them, or tick them off royally, all of which will have different in-game benefits or penalties.

Joker Studio told PlayStation Blog that a world shaped by a pirate's actions offered some intriguing questions. In this game, it's the players who will answer them. You and your crew will engage in real-time naval battles against opposing ships or sea monsters from the brimy deep.

It isn't all sailing and sea battles. Players can explore on land and encounter combat there as well. Your crew can train in the game's numerous professions to unlock rare abilities that will turn the tide- see what I did there?- of battle.

In the game's main city, players can engage in side quests including cooking, fishing, and mahjong. There are also opportunities to earn new crew members and spread your pirate renown all throughout the land and seas.

It's easy to see why this one is trending. It looks beautiful, and I can't wait to set sail with my puppet crew. That's a weird statement to anybody who doesn't play video games. For those of us who know, it's a perfectly normal day at the office.
