We will have WWE 2K26 in our hot little hands next month, so the hype machine is in full swing. The Royal Rumble was this past weekend, crowning two stars in the men's and women's events. OK, that last part did not really happen, but don't get me started. But there really is a brand new trailer for the game.
This is also our first official look at two of the new match types, the Inferno Match and the Dumpster Match. To win the Inferno Match, you'll need to set your opponent on fire. The bigger the moves you're able to pull off, the higher the flames go. Inferno matches are classic WWE silliness, and I can't wait to play them. The Dumpster Match, as the name implies, asks you to beat an opponent so badly that you can stuff them into a garbage dumpster. I imagine this will contain a mini-game that works similarly to the Ambulance Match.
CM Punk will star in this year's showcase, Punked. It will feature some of his most famous matches and some What If scenarios, including matches he might have had if he hadn't left WWE for 10 years. Punk said that just like us, he grew up playing these games, and now it's an honor to be on the cover. He also appeared on the WWE 13 cover, back in the Yuke's Era. That game slapped pretty hard, so this is hopefully a good omen for this year's game.
WWE 2K26 will also feature the biggest roster in the game's history at over 400 wrestlers, I"m sure making good use of WWE's recent acquisitions and talent-sharing agreements.
