Apple wants to show just how powerful the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro are, and what better way to do that than by allowing us to blast some zombies? Resident Evil 3 is now available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. A free download will allow players to try the game, then they'll need to purchase the full version to continue.

It requires an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 to run, and iPads and Macs will need an M1 chip, A17 pro chip or later. Resident Evil 3 is 31 GB in size, and players will need twice that available in storage space to install it.

RE 3 finds Jill Valentine trying to escape the viral outbreak taking over Raccoon City. Umbrella Corporation has released the relentless bioweapon known as Nemesis to stop her from leaving the city. These chumps don't understand, she's a member of STARS!

The game features fully customizable touch controls, and on iPhone and iPad there's a brand new auto fire feature. RE3 is also compatible with a variety of controllers.

RE3 is actually a 2020 remake of 1999's Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, but Capcom cut a lot of things out. Remakes are often divisive just by their existence, but the loss of campaign areas, choice-based story paths and changes that made Nemesis less persistent didn't go over well.

Now a whole new group of players, including some without preconceived notions of what Resident Evil 3 should be, will get a chance to try it out.
