With a Netherese orb in his chest, Gale’s fate is to explode and destroy the Elder Brain. However, if you let him go through with it, not only will this end the game early, forcing you to miss out on the entire Act 3, where the most important events unfold, but it also spells a terrible ending for every single being in Faerun.

Gale’s detonation will destroy the Elder Brain and the Chosens of the Dead Three. Your party, along with everyone within the explosion's radius, will also face an inevitable fate. And although the Elder Brain perishes, the tadpoles it once controlled remain within numerous individuals. Now liberated from the Absolute’s grip, they will finish their transformation. Soon, those uninfected will face the grim prospect of death or enslavement. And this time, there won’t be any hero to save them.
