The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered: How to play the PS5 remake for just $10

Today marks the release of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, a PS5 remake of Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic action adventure. The Last of Us 2, a sequel set five year's after the first game, was first released for PlayStation 4 in June 2020.

Although The Last of Us Part 2 was playable on the PS5 after release, it wasn't native to the console. This remaster features native 4K output in Fidelity Mode, 1440p upscaled to 4K in Performance Mode, an Unlocked Framerate option for televisions that support VRR, increased texture resolution, increased Level-of-Detail distances, improved shadow quality, animation sampling rate, and more.

It also comes with a new "No Return" roguelike survival mode, a Guitar Free Play mode, and behind-the-scenes commentary from the developers of the game. There's also a set of "Lost Levels," playable sequences that were previously cut from the game and provide additional glimpses into the game world.

If you've never played The Last of Us Part II, then this is probably the best way to experience it. At launch, it costs $49.99. However, those who already own The Last of Us Part 2 on PS4 can actually get the Remastered version for a discount.

Getting The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for just $10 depends on which version of the original game you have. If you own the digital version of The Last of Us Part 2, then all you need to do is head to the PlayStation Store and you should be able to see the Remastered version available for just $10.

It gets a little trickier if you own The Last of Us Part 2 on disc. If you own the physical copy of the PS4 game, then you can only upgrade for $10 if you have a PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive. You'll have to insert your disc into the PS5 every time you want to download or play the PS5 digital version.
