The five worst video game movie adaptations (not named Borderlands)
Borderlands The Movie isn't getting any love, but will it be the worst movie adapted from a video game? It would have to beat out some classics.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children wasn’t a great FF movie, but it isn’t the worst either. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is one of those movies that people either love or hate. An interesting way to think about it is that this movie would probably be better received if it weren’t titled within one of the most iconic gaming series in the industry. But putting the Final Fantasy name at the top did this movie no justice as the story itself has almost nothing to do with anything that has occurred in the series that has spanned decades. This movie had a great cast and the animation was fantastic, but it still crashed and burned so badly that the Square Pictures branch was completely closed.
