The five worst video game movie adaptations (not named Borderlands)

Borderlands The Movie isn't getting any love, but will it be the worst movie adapted from a video game? It would have to beat out some classics.

The Super Mario Brothers (1993)

Super Mario Brothers may go down as one of the most important video game series. It has been the introduction that has created the foundation of gaming in the lives of so many. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated well to both the small and big screens. Back in 1993, Super Mario Brothers became the first live-action film based on a video game. For that reason alone, it deserves respect.

But was the movie good? Eh, the answer to that question is no. As with many video game movies, the story didn’t translate well enough to capture the magic of the game. Instead, it morphed into something completely different that wasn’t well-received by fans. But hey, if you want to see John Leguizamo in one of his early acting appearances, this is a great chance to do so.
