Part of Tekken 8's success can be attributed to its dominance in the U.K. market. In a recent post on X, Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry.biz revealed that Tekken 8's physical sales more than doubled the launch of Street Fighter 6 in the U.K. after just one week.

The high sales figures are no surprise to those who keep up with trending video games on Steam. On its release day, Tekken 8 recorded almost 50,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, surpassing any other release in the franchise. When you factor in the players on console, and the game's $69.99 price, it is no wonder Tekken 8 is coming close to $20 million in revenue after just three weeks.

The high sales figures translate to a high Metacritic score by both critic and casual reviews. With a 90 Metascore and 8.4 User Score, Tekken 8 debuted with overwhelmingly positive feedback from the gaming community.
