Do The Wave

Wigglytuff’s Time To Shine

Basically a variant of Haymaker, this card is based on the Jungle card Wigglytuff’s three-energy attack Do The Wave (no, not that kind of wave), which had the ability to do 60 damage as early as turn two (which was a lot back in the day)!

Ultimately, the idea of the deck is to get Wigglytuff into play ASAP, fill your bench up just as fast as possible and then swing for 60 damage a turn – ultimately outpacing your opponents damage output and winning the game swiftly.

While powerful Haymaker stalwarts such as Scyther and Magmar were also a good fit here, this archetype could also make use of rarely played cards like Jungle’s Nidoran F, which could use its Call for Family attack to fill your bench up with Nidoran F and Nidoran M, then retreat to make way for a Wigglytuff ready to pound your opponent’s active Pokemon for 60 damage a turn.

There was plenty of hand disruption and energy disruption in the form of Trainer cards Lass, Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal found in the deck along with the damage-boosting PlusPower card.
