Pokemon GO: How to evolve Inkay into Malamar?

Pokemon GO currently has an event going on called Psychic Spectacular. This event currently is going on from September 18 through September 22. During this event, Psychic Pokemon, during this event, spawn at a much higher frequency. This event also marks the debut of Hatenna in Pokemon GO.

This special task isn't directly given to trainers, instead you are tasked with figuring it out by yourself.

When you click on the question mark symbol when you are going to evolve Inkay, an upside-down question mark appears telling you to figure out the special task needed to evolve. That upside-down question mark is a major hint at what you need to do.

All you need to do to get the Malamar evolution is to make sure you flip your phone upside down and the light pink evolve button will turn dark pink and you will be able to proceed with the evolution. If you are new to the Pokemon franchise, this might be a little weird or confusing to you. However, evolving Inkay using some upside-down tactics is not new to the franchise.

Back during Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Inkay was evolved the same way except instead of turning your phone upside-down, you needed to turn your Nintendo 3DS upside-down.
