AFC West

Denver Broncos: Patrick Surtain II, CB

The Denver Broncos are in the midst of a rebuild, and one of the bright spots is one of the most talented defensive players in the league. Pat Surtain II has been an impact player in all three of his seasons in the NFL thus far and has established himself as one of the league’s top corners.

Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes, QB

Does this selection even require an explanation? No, but we’ll give a short one anyway. Patrick Mahomes can be a Backyard Football mainstay, much like Tom Brady was back in the day. Already a three-time Super Bowl champion, he is the best quarterback in the NFL. No. 15  is the new benchmark, bar none.

Las Vegas Raiders: Maxx Crosby, DE

We’ve already included a couple of elite defensive playmakers known for getting to the quarterback, and Maxx Crosby is worthy of being in that conversation as well. His development has transformed the Las Vegas Raiders defense to the extent where they beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, despite throwing for zero yards post-first quarter.

Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB

The 2024 season could be a big season for Justin Herbert, whom many believe simply needs a better coach to help him capitalize on his potential. Though it’s not a likely outcome, he is still considered the AFC West’s best chance to dethrone Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs – even if only temporarily.
