7. Pirate’s Treasure

Difficulty: 3/10
Nostalgia: 8/10
Storyline: 8/10
Overall: 7.0/10

Redbeard Frank knows the whereabouts of a hidden treasure in Gielinor, but in order for him to reveal to you how to find it, you need to smuggle a bottle of rum from Karamja and get it to him.

And it’s not as simple as taking it on the ship with you or teleporting out and going back to Port Sarim. All things considered, you end up needing to sign up for two separate “jobs” – one on Karamja, the other in Port Sarim – in order to make it happen.

There is a fair bit of travel associated with this quest, especially given the fact that the task seems like a relatively simple one at the start, but that makes it ideal for new players to do early on to familiarize themselves with a considerable portion of the world map outside Lumbridge. It is far more than a “lazy NPC” quest like we’ve discussed before.

The final battle is a bit of a pushover and, quite honestly, unnecessary, as it doesn’t really add anything to the quest. Still, this one is a classic.
