MLB The Show 24: Release date, platforms and special editions
MLB The Show 24 has officially been announced with the reveal of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as this year's cover athlete. The 24-year-old Blue Jays slugger and 2023 Home Run Derby winner is making his cover athlete debut.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is one of the league's most feared hitters with a career .279 average and 130 home runs in five seasons (including the shortened 2020 season). Last year, Guerrero Jr. hit .264 with 26 home runs and 94 RBIs. He's been voted as an All-Star the previous three years.
Although this is Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s first time being on the cover of an MLB The Show video game, it's actually not the first time for the Guerrero family. In 2006, Vlad Jr.'s father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., was o nthe cover of MLB 2006 (the predecessor to MLB The Show).
In honor of his being named this year's cover athlete, MLB The Show traveled to his hometown in the Dominican Republic to film a special documentary. Check out the 42-minute documentary below and find the full details of everything we know about MLB The Show 24.
