Marvel Rivals is a newly revealed 6v6 shooter from developer NetEase. In a similar vein to Overwatch, the game pits two teams of six players — each controlling a unique Marvel super hero or villain — against each other.

Although there's no release date for Marvel Rivals as of yet, NetEase announced plans to host a Closed Alpha Test in May. And you can sign up right now!

How to register for the Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Test

To register for a slot in the closed alpha test, you have to start by filling out this form. The questios are pretty straight forward — things what region you will be playtesting for for what game genres you are currently playing the most.

It also asks what PVP shooter (ranked mode) is your most-played game on PC: Overwatch 2, CS:GO, CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty, The Finals, Halo, and Destiny 2. There's also an option to select fi you don't play ranked which, while it may seem like a bad answer, could be something they are looking for in a playtester.

You then need to confirm that your PC meets the following minimum requirements:

  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD RX 580
  • DirectX: Version 12|
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 70 GB available space

The Closed Alpha test is only available on PC, which makes sense since Marvel Rivals has only been announced for PC right now. While there's speculation it could come to consoles at some point down the line, nothing official has been announced.

No release date has been announced for Marvel Rivals but with a Closed Alpha starting in May, it's possible that the game could enter a beta phase later this year. Depending on how everything goes a holiday 2024 launch doesn't seem out of the question, although 2025 seems a bit more realistic.
