We've long speculated that Marvel Rivals wouldn't remain a PC exclusive and this week, NetEase Games confirmed that the highly anticipated title will indeed launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The game was featured in this week's PlayStation State of Play, which not only confirmed the additional platforms, but also revealed two more playable characters: Venom and Adam Warlock. These two new characters join an already robust roster that includes heroes and villains from across the Marvel universe.

With the addition of Venom and Adam Warlock, the Marvel Rivals launch roster is now up to 21 playable characters:

  1. Spider-Man
  2. Hulk
  3. Iron Man
  4. Doctor Strange
  5. Black Panther
  6. Loki
  7. Star-Lord
  8. Rocket Raccoon
  9. Groot
  10. Mantis
  11. Namor
  12. Peni Parker
  13. Magik
  14. Luna Snow
  15. Storm
  16. Magneto
  17. The Punisher
  18. Scarlet Witch
  19. Hela
  20. Venom
  21. Adam Warlock

This list will almost certainly continue to grow as there were 20 additional characters discovered in a recently leaked datamine. While Venom and Adam Warlock were among the previously leaked characters, others on the list include the Fantastic Four (Human Tourch, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and The Thing), Wolverine, Moon Knight, Thor, Captain America, and Hawkeye.

It's possible that some of these leaked characters could be announced prior to the game's release, or they could be added post-launch. As a live-service game, Marvel Rivals will continue to see regular updates after it officially launches.

Speaking of launch, we still don't have a release date for Marvel Rivals, although NetEase did confirm there will be a closed beta test in July for all platforms. This was described as a "large-scale test" that will invite players from North America, Europe, and other regions. It will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Those who participate on PlayStation will get exclusive access to the "Scarlet Spider" cosmetic outfit (shown briefly at the end of the trailer) when the game is officially launched.

Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 Super Hero Team-Based PvP Shooter that features characters from across the Marvel universe. Teams battle across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps in a variety of game modes.
