11. Agadeem's Awakening

MDFC X Spell Goodness

MDFCs (modal double-faced cards) aren’t the most common card type in MTG, but some of the strongest ones are the MDFC lands from the Zendikar Rising expansion from 2021. Perhaps the strongest of all those cards is Agadeem’s Awakening, which is another extremely powerful reanimation sorcery spell.

In addition to being an untapped source of black mana if you pay three life on the card’s land side, its sorcery side is hugely impactful. It’s an X spell that lets you return any number of creature cards to the battlefield that each have a different mana cost of X or less. That means if X is five, you can return five creature cards from your graveyard to play, so long as they each have a different mana cost.

10. Breach The Multiverse

When Seven-Mana Mill Strategies Reign Supreme

Another extremely expensive sorcery spell with a game-breaking effect, this powerful seven-mana spell has been quite effective in the Standard format of late. Sure, the Standard metagame is currently dominated by Monored Aggro and Domain strategies, but Dimir (blue/black) Midrange and Esper (white/blue/black) Midrange decks still have their place.

Dimir decks employing Conspiracy Unraveler, in particular, love Breach the Multiverse as it allows them to more or less “go infinite” by stealing a foe’s cards and then casting other spells for free using the graveyard. Again, seven mana is steep, but the ability to mill 10 cards from each player’s library and then steal the strongest creature or planeswalker cards from each opponent is a game-breaking play.
