Madden 25 way too early predictions: Best rated QBs
3. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals) - 95 OVR
Joe Burrow's 2023 season was plagued by injury. The 27-year-old played in just 10 games, throwing for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. But early on, he just didn't look like his normal self as he was recovering from a calf injury.
When healthy, Joe Burrow is one of the best passers in the league and one of the few who can go toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes.
Burrow was rated a 93 overall in Madden 24 which I personally feel is a bit too low for him. I hope that EA gives him a slight boost, but they may make him prove it first with a couple of games.
2. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) - 97 OVR
After leading the Baltimore Ravens to a No. 1 seed in the AFC, Jackson's bid for a Super Bowl fell short. But don't let his struggles against Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game take away from everything that he accomplished this season.
Jackson had one of the best statistical seasons of his career, throwing for a career high 67.2% completion percentage. he threw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding another 821 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He's the prototypical explosive, dual-threat quarterback. At 27-years-old, Jackosn is still in the prime of his career and should hopefully continue to grow as a passer, especially if he gets a legitimate wide receiver.
Jackson sniffed the 99 Club in Madden 24, finishing the season with a 98 overall. I think he gets a slight reduction and starts the year with a 97 overall in Madden 25.
1. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) - 99 OVR
While there are a few top-tier quarterbacks in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes is in his own stratosphere. With three Super Bowl rings in four Super Bowl appearances, no one is as clutch as Mahomes. He's already debated as one of the best quarterbacks of all-time — and it's just 28-years-old.
Mahomes had one of the worst statistical seasons of his career in 2023, throwing for 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns with 14 interception (a career high). But when playoffs came, he turned it on. Despite a lack of weapons on offense, Mahomes made all the plays when needed to.
Sometimes you've got to look past the stats on paper when determining a player's overall. Mahomes may have had a down year, but he's still the best in the league at getting it done, as evidenced by his third Super Bowl ring. He'll be a 99 overall when Madden 25 comes out.
EA hasn't yet announced Madden 25, but it will probably be revealed later this summer.
