9. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles) - 83 OVR

After an MVP-caliber performance in 2022, Jalen Hurts regressed majorly in 2023. He threw for just 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns, while tossing 15 interceptions. These stats are more in line with the first two seasons of his career, leading some to believe that his 2022 performance was an outlier.

To his credit, Hurts was playing injured for much of the second half of the season. Still, I think he needs to regain our trust. He's a dynamic quarterback with an uncanny ability to find the end zone (thanks in large part to the Tush Push). I don't think EA will drop him completely out of the top 10, but he's closer to the bottom of the list than the top.

8. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers) - 85 OVR

In his first season as a full-time starter, Brock Purdy proved his a capable starter in the NFL. The jury is out as to whether his skills make him a top-10 quarterback in the league, but the stats definitely back up the claim that he's among the league's best.

There's no denying Purdy is surrounded by talent, but he's still got to make the right reads and deliver the football on target. He may not have the explosive playmaking ability with his legs that some of the other quarterbacks on this list may have, but he makes the right reads and is clutch when needed.

Last season, Purdy threw for 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions. His average 9.6 yards per attempt was among the league's best. EA had him rated 85 in Madden 24 to end the season, and I don't see him going down, especially after is solid performance in the Super Bowl.

7. Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins) - 86 OVR

Dolphins fans are mixed on Tua Tagovailoa and his ability to lead his team to a Super Bowl, but statistically, he's one of the best in the league. Granted, he plays with the best receiver in the league in Tyreek Hill, but that shouldn't take away from Tua's skillset.

Tua was the 6th best-rated quarterback at the end of the season in Madden 24 with an 88 overall rating. I think that's a bit too high for him, so I believe he'll be knocked down a few points to start the year, placing him at No. 8 on the list.
