Is Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox Series X|S?

Helldivers 2 is just a few days away from release. The third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios will release on February 8 for PS5 and PC. Despite the confirmed platforms, many are wondering if it will come to Xbox Series X|S in the future.

Will Helldivers 2 come to Xbox consoles?

Helldivers 2 will almost certainly not come to Xbox consoles at launch or in the future. That's because Helldivers 2, like its predecessor, is published by Sony. The odds of it ever coming to an Xbox console are slim to none.

Although Helldivers 2 is developed by a third-party studio in Arrowhead Game Studios, the fact that it's published by Sony almost certainly means it will remain a PlayStation exclusive. The original Helldivers was also published by Sony and that remained a PlayStation exclusive that never released on Xbox.

How to play Helldivers 2 without a PS5

The good news is Helldivers 2 is only a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. It will actually be available on PC the same day as PS5 on February 8.

Arrowhead Game Studios have already confirmed that Helldivers 2 supports crossplay. This means players on PS5 and PC can play together regardless of their platforms.

What's new in Helldivers 2?

The biggest change in Helldivers 2 from its predecessor is the change in perspective. While the original game was a top-down shooter, the sequel presents your view as a third-person shooter. Other than that, many of the same gameplay elements that made the first game so addicting and fun have returned. This includes the use of Stratagems, in-depth progression, customization and equipment upgrades, and online co-op.
