Gunnar's Overwatch blue-blockers initialize a defense matrix for your eyeballs
Gunnar's no stranger to making fantastic eye protection for gamers. Recently I showcased the absolutely incredible Fallout ones which I honestly have come to use as my regulars.
But recently they showed me their new Overwatch ones and *insert distracted boyfriend* meme here.
The new Overwatch 2 Ultimates are incredibly slick. From the metallic three-dimensional Overwatch logo coming off the sides on the arms. The squishy orange textured surface that goes over the ears. The really nice way the graphite grey and the rubbery orange play off each other well. It's super nice.
It also comes with a special Overwatch glasses bag and a unique lens cleaning cloth with an image of some of the Overwatch gang standing all stoic like. Look at them pose. Good for them.
Now for the reasons that they aren't my FAVORITE ones, despite their cool design. Admittedly I boycotted Blizzard/Activision (personal reasons) years ago and have not played Overwatch in a VERY long time. But that's more personal.
As for the glasses. They're definitely designed for a head way smaller than mine. I have a giant noggin and if you do too you're going to find that the cool squishy orange bits aren't going to reach your ears. Also, these ones don't have the spring hinges I normally like on these like the Groot ones have that make it feel like it's gently hugging your head.
Another thing I was kinda disappointed with is that it didn't have a sturdy case. Almost every Gunnar I ever looked at came with a cool case. Loki's came with a really nice green and black holding case. The Miles Morales ones came with a nice zip up protective case that looks like it's made out of his costume and clips to a bag. The Fallout ones actually come with a blue and yellow metal box that looks like it could withstand a nuclear blast. But these? You get a bag. At least give us something that looks like a Loot Crate.
If you can look past those issues and you happen to have a "normal" sized human head though these are still absolutely gorgeous and fantastic for protecting your eyes while you move that payload. And for real, get back to the payload.
