Gundam Breakers 4 collaborating with Pac-Man seems like Bandai stole from my dreams
Almost every night I play a little game on my PS5 called Gundam Breaker 3. I've been a Gundam fan for decades and the ability to make better and better kitbashes and fight them is fantastic and I love it. And as I type this I type this with my left upper arm wrapped in a tattoo that looks like Pac-Man maze. I literally wear my interest in Pac-Man on my sleeve.
But today I found out that in the upcoming Gundam Breakers 4 game (a little more than a month away at the time of this writing) that the sequel to one of my favorite comfort games is doing a collaboration with Pac-Man.
My god.
I was already onboard with GB4 when I saw the insane amount of new features they added to allow further customization. Two different arms from different suits. The ability to equip two different weapons to create custom combos. The ability to alter the size of different components so that different ones can look better together. And the fact that the decals can no be put anywhere on the models instead of pre-determined spots like in GB3. But now you're telling me that they're adding Pac-Man decals to the mix?
The decals that not only look very similar to my own tattoo but also ones that desperately make me want to make an arcade cabinet themed kitbash. Oh my god.
But also, we get a special stage that's designed to be a Pac-Man maze. Yellow Haro hover in the air like power pellets. Specially colored Beargguys work like the infamous ghosts, chasing you down while you collect the pellets. It just all looks fun.
Another thing I love is that this trailer shows off customization options that I didn't know existed in the game. For example, at 0:22 you can get a good view of some of the decal customization options. You can adjust the roughness and shine of the stickers which is great because in GB3 they just meshed with the surface options making them practically invisible at times.
I was already so exciting for this game coming out that I've been peaking out my door on a daily basis in the off chance it got here early (despite being more than a month away) but knowing it's doing fun, almost Monster Hunter like collabs like this makes me super happy. Now all they need to do is add the actual Pac-Man mech model that Bandai put out years ago and this will be perfect.
