Fortnite is one of the most popular free-to-play battle royale games out there, gaining traction since its release in 2017. It can be frustrating when players can’t connect to the game’s server. Fortnite is up as of writing. Here’s where players can go to check the server’s status.

How to Check Fortnite Server Status

There are two ways to check Fortnite’s server status. The easiest method is going to the Epic Games’ Public Status page, where players can see real-time and historical data about the platform’s systems. Users can press the + icon next to a system to see which parts of it are functioning well. They can also scroll to the bottom to view previous issues reported during the month.

Players can also go to StatusGator, which provides Fortnite’s general status at the top of the screen. Details about which specific Fortnite services are down are near the middle of the page. Unlike the Epic Games Public Status page, StatusGator provides more information about the statuses of each Fortnite component.

StatusGator also alerts players when Fortnite systems are down if they sign up for email, SMS, or Slack notifications.

How to Check Network Connection on Consoles

Players should check the network connection on their consoles if there’s no outage or system maintenance.

  1. Press the Xbox button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Go to the General tab.
  4. Press Network Settings.
  5. Select Test Network Speed and Statistics.

  1. Go to the main menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Press View Connection Status.
  5. Select Test Internet Connection.

Nintendo Switch

  1. Go to System Settings.
  2. Select Internet (Test Internet Connection).

Players should restart their routers if the server issue occurs because of their internet. They may have to call their internet providers if nothing else works.

When Do Fortnite Servers Usually Go Down?

Like many other games, Fortnite servers typically go down for maintenance. The Fortnite Status social media account usually gives a heads-up for downtime. X users should set notifications for the account if they want the latest server updates fast.
