Players are thrust into the Eorzea region in the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. With eight races and tons of customization options, it’s no wonder the franchise has gained popularity worldwide. As fantastic as Final Fantasy XIV is, the game isn’t without flaws. Sometimes, players can’t connect to servers. Here’s how they can check if servers are down.

When is Final Fantasy XIV Server Downtime?

Square Enix always posts server downtimes on their website. Players can find downtime announcements on the official Final Fantasy XIV maintenance page. The site specifies which parts of the game will be under maintenance, what’s being updated, and each session’s time and date.

How to Check if Final Fantasy XIV Servers Are Down

Square Enix also makes it easy to check if servers are down. The easiest way to do this is by visiting the Server Status website for Final Fantasy XIV. The good thing about this website is that it shows the status of all servers in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Japan.

The site is also easy to understand and intuitive. Square Enix lists all World names and uses icons to show their server status. A red diamond indicates the server is under maintenance, and a yellow one indicates partial maintenance.
