Listen, it's not necessarily a bad outfit but there's things we gotta consider her to solve what went wrong here.

First off, the detective game is...not great. Even for something intended for all audiences the puzzles are about as tough as finding where Blue is hiding in Blue's Clues. You will wait for everyone to basically hand you the answer before you can go searching for it. It almost feels like you're just slogging through pointing at the right thing so you can get through it. It's sort of a let down. "Oh, what object can go into this gear shaped opening. And second question, what's that glittering gear on the floor for?"

As for the outfit itself? Listen, it's fine. You see her in it and you go "she's dressed like a detective." The issue is the fact that she's dressed like EVERY detective. There's nothing really about it where she's making this outfit her own. She's just a Spirit Halloween detective.

And yeah, she's got a magnifying glass. Fine and good. But she's using it to point at massive things in a museum and being like "this looks like a painting". Great deduction their, detective.

And all her movements just look like she's jocking Professor Layton all the way down to the slow thinking point he does except she does this every time she has a minor thought. Nothing feels Peach about this one. It's a clever idea but she doesn't really break the case.
