EA Sports College Football 25 release date and cover athletes; Reveal Trailer coming today
After nearly a decade, college football has returned! EA Sports College Football 25 was formally introduced yesterday much to the excitement of those who grew up playing what was formerly the NCAA Football franchise. It may have a new name, but it's got the same excitement!
Normally when a game is announced and pre-orders are taken without a single gameplay trailer, gamers tend to respond in anger. But in this case, we are so desperate for a college football game that no one seemed to mind the lack of any gameplay. Thankfully, that comes today.
As you can see above, EA Sports College Football 25 is releasing on July 19, 2024. This year's cover will feature a trio of current college football stars – Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter.
These three college athletes will grace the cover of both the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition of the game.Speaking of the Deluxe Edition, it grands three day early access that runs from July 16-18.
It also comes with 4,600 College Football Points and some Ultimate Team goodies which, again, confirms that EA's Ultimate Team mode will be present in College Football 25.
As the cover art alludes, EA Sports College Football 25 will be representative of the college football landscape and will feature 134 FBS schools. Many of these players from these schools will also be featured in the game thanks to the ability to now sell their Name, Image, and Likeness. Previously, student athletes were not paid for their NIL due to NCAA regulations, but that is now a thing of the past which is why college football video games are back!
EA Sports College Football 25 will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 19, 2024.
In addition to the Standard and Deluxe Editions, EA also revealed an MVP Bundle. For those who want to double dip into Madden NFL 25 and College Football 25, you can get this bundle for $149.99 and get the Deluxe Edition of both games. The Deluxe Edition of these two games on their own would run you $99 each for a total of $200. Even buying the standard edition of these games separately would cost you $140 total.
