Pokemon Sun And Moon Pokemon, Ranked
11 – Sandygast/Palossand
Type: Ghost/Ground
Sandygast Classification: Sand Heap Pokemon
Sandygast Pokedex: Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed. It takes control of anyone who puts a hand in its mouth. And so it adds to the accumulation of its sand-mound body.
Palossand Classification: Sand Castle Pokemon
Palossand Pokedex: Possessed people controlled by this Pokémon transformed its sand mound into a castle. As it evolved, its power to curse grew ever stronger. Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained.
Explanation: Does this guy remind anyone else of Dungeon Man from Earthbound? Just checking. Although, the obvious difference is that Dungeon Man has a wonderful adventuresome dungeon inside of him, while this guy only has doom and despair. The official art of Palossand devouring a Pikachu in a sand trap is one of the more terrifying official pieces I’ve ever seen. It’s fitting, though, for a Pokemon whose lore revolves around luring unsuspecting children and adding their souls to its body to grow stronger and more evil.
Sure, I raised an eyebrow at the fact that Game Freak made a “sand castle” Pokemon, but geez, when they do inanimate objects as Pokemon, they really know how to go all-out.
