Classification: Sunne Pokemon

Pokedex: It is said to live in another world. The intense light it radiates from the surface of its body can make the darkest of nights light up like midday. This Pokémon is said to be a male evolution of Cosmog. At the activation of its third eye, it departs for another world.

Explanation: If Aslan were a Pokemon, here he is in all his blazing glory. Putting aside for a moment the fact that the name “Solgaleo” sounds like a fancy Italian dessert, Solgaleo simply radiates power and courage. His appearance in-game at a critical story moment is appropriately awesome. Solgaleo is an excellent box mascot and a wonderful follow-up from his pre-evolution as a plot twist. My only criticism of him is that he’s a Psychic/Steel type. Where does that come from? As an emblem of the sun, I expected him to be sporting some fiery fierceness. There just isn’t anything here that screams “Steel” to me.
