Wasn't there some poem about March coming in a lamb and going out like a lion, or vice versa? The gaming calendar is roaring to life now as Monster Hunter Wilds is upon us, with Assassin's Creed Shadows not far behind. Those might be the biggest titles this month, but they are far from the only ones. Here's a look at the PlayStation goodness releasing this week:

The best educational games and entertainment are so much fun you don't realize you're learning anything. Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego was the best of the best in this genre. Gaming's most sophisticated thief is back in a title simply called Carmen Sandiego. Thanks to the popularity of her PBS show, Fox cartoon series and the excellent video games where it all began, Carmen has gone full Vegeta and become a hero.

For the first time in the series history, players are Carmen herself. She's tracking down VILE operatives all across the globe because it takes a thief to catch a thief. It's $29.99 for the Standard Edition of the scarlet super thief's latest adventure.

Carmen isn't the only blast from the past this week. Age of Mythology Retold is the more fantastical version of Age of Empires, allowing players to fight for mythological deities from the Norse, Greek, Egyptian and Atlantean pantheons. A 50-mission campaign plays all the historical and mythological hits. The standard edition is $29.99.

Sugardew Island is a cozy farming sim inspired by the Nintendo DS-era Harvest Moon titles. Reviews are saying there's more than a little in common with recent hit Stardew Valley as well. I can't lie, the fluffy cows and forest folk are really adorable, and that's coming from somebody who doesn't play farming games.

The biggest release this week is Split Fiction, a unique offering from Hazelight Studios and EA. Mio and Zoe are two writers trapped in a simulation of their own imaginations. This is from the folks that have brought us previous co-op smashes A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. This one is $49.99, and initial reviews are saying it's well worth the price of admission.

Suikoden is a name RPG fans remember fondly, and that inevitably leads to remastered versions. This PSN release packages Suikoden I and II, two of Konami's greatest ever. A large part of the fun is recruiting the 108 Stars of Destiny, individual characters you can recruit to fight the many, many battles in these games. It's $49.99 for this trip back to the golden era of PS1 JRPGs.

PC players have already experienced the survival horror goodness of Sorry We're Closed, and now PlayStation faithful get their chance. This offering from A La Mode Games tells a tale of demons, angels and what happens when the two sides collide. Game protagonist Michelle has a "third eye" that allows her to see the supernatural shenanigans going on around her. It's a tough job, but for us to have great video games somebody's gotta do it.
