The playoffs for VCT Champions Paris 2025 are set, and the teams are locked in after the group stage decider matches, all of which ended in sweeps.
The first match in the decider eliminations would be DRX vs Team Liquid, a rematch from earlier in the tournament.
Team Liquid looked to avenge that loss on Sept. 13, but DRX wanted to push through the EMEA team and go to the playoffs.
Map one would be Team Liquid's pick of Corrode.
It would be an even match in the first half as both teams fought tooth and nail to gain a lead, but as one team took the lead, the other would climb back to tie the match.
Ultimately, the first half would end with a tie at 6-6, with MaKo on DRX leading at the half with 11 kills, 9 deaths and 5 assists.
The second half would be a wash as DRX quickly took control of the match, destroying Team Liquid with a 7-2 score in the second half and winning 13-8 with Flashback taking map MVP with 22 kills, 14 deaths and 2 assists.
The second map would be DRX’s choice in Abyss, and it would prove to be the perfect map for them.
The first half would mirror map one, with it ending in a 6-6 tie, but leading the half would be Team Liquid’s 13 kills, 7 deaths and an assist.
DRX would pick up where they left off and would dismantle Team Liquid winning map two with a 13-7 score and HYUNMIN taking map MVP with 24 kills, 14 deaths and 5 assists.
The next Decider was GiantX vs Xi Lai Gaming (XLG), and it was a barn burner where it seemingly looked like it would head to map three, but GiantX wouldn’t allow that.
In map one of Bind, XLG’s pick, they would start map one on a high note with an 8-4 lead in the first half, with NoMan leading XLG with 12 kills and 7 deaths.
In the second half, GiantX would come back on an 8-4 round win streak, tying the match up at 12-12, sending it into overtime, but overtime didn’t last long as GiantX would win immediately with a score of 14-12.
Map MVP would go to Ara with 27 kills, 19 deaths and 3 assists.
Map two would be on Ascent and would start similarly to map one, with XLG taking an early lead in the first half with 7-5, but in the second half, GiantX would make a big comeback with an 8-3 run and take the win at 13-10.
Map MVP would go to Ara again with 27 kills, 12 deaths and an assist.
The third decider match would be G2 Esports vs T1, a rematch from the first Master's event of the year in Bangkok, where T1 took that match.
This time around, G2 would rewrite that wrong as they continued their expedition for gold.
Map one would be G2’s pick of Lotus, and that's where they started to show how much stronger they got.
The first half would be a defensive clinic with G2 taking the lead at 8-4, and they would continue their lead as they switch to the offensive side in the second half, winning map one with 13-9.
Map MVP would go to In-Game Leader (IGL) Valyn with 21 kills, 15 deaths and 10 assists.
Map two would be another dismantling of T1, even with their map pick of Corrode.
G2 would get the lead after a dominant first half on the offensive side with an 8-4 lead.
Heading into the second half, G2 would have a rocky defensive start, but the guard would show up and secure the win with a 13-8 score, with Jawgemo taking map MVP with 19 kills, 12 deaths and 6 assists.
In the final Decider match, it would be MIBR vs Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ).
MIBR would dismantle RRQ, and Aspas would showcase why he is the goat.
Map one would be RRQ’s pick in Corrode, where they would only win three rounds in the first half, as they couldn’t defend against MIBR’s aggressive attacks with a 9-3 lead.
There would be no 9-3 curse in effect as MIBR continued to grow their lead on the defensive side, and they would take the win at 13-5 with Artzin taking map MVP with 21 kills, 9 deaths and 9 assists.
Map two wouldn’t be a different story; in fact, it would be the same book on the same chapter as they went to Abyss.
MIBR would start on the defence and gain the lead in the first half, with an 8-4 score.
Things looked promising for RRQ, but MIBR would go into the second half on the attacking side and destroy RRQ, with a score of 13-5 and map MVP going to Aspas with 17 kills, 6 deaths and 2 assists.
The playoffs are set.
MIBR, G2 Esports, GiantX and DRX would take the final spots of the playoffs, and now the chase for the VCT Champions Paris trophy is on.
DRX will take on FNATIC.
Paper Rex will take on G2 Esports.
MIBR will take on Team Heretics, and NRG will see GiantX.
