If exploring space and making it habitable is your jam, you might want to give Moons of Ardan a try. This game from Belgian indie studio Pandora Technology asks you to guide a small band of Axonauts stranded on an uninhabited moon until they become a thriving stellar society.
To succeed, you'll have to manage scarce resources, build factories, and weather the ecological challenges surrounding Ardan, a gas giant planet. In the endgame, you'll develop technology so powerful you can colonize asteroids with your army of robot workers. What could possibly go wrong? Something tells me you'll find out if you give this adventure a try.
Its latest update includes an achievement system, a requested sandbox mode, and enhancements that improve clarity and game flow. The new system adds 43 achievements that should challenge players' grasp of the game's colony-building and exploration mechanics.
"I am incredibly excited to introduce this update to the Moons of Ardan community," said Quentin Chevalier, the solo developer behind this game. "Achievements will challenge both new and veteran players to dig deeper into the game's systems, while sandbox mode opens the door to unlimited creativity. I can't wait to see what players build."
A free demo will allow players on Steam to experience these new upgrades. The demo will allow players to establish their first lunar colony, manage that moon's resources, and launch their first spaceship.
Moons of Ardan launched in 2021 in Early Access in October 2021, and expects a full release in 2025.
