I love nerds so much, y'all. I never imagined in the year of our lord 2026 they would still be doing games based on 90s sci-fi TV hit Stargate-SG1, a spinoff of the movie franchise. But open the iris, because that's where we at.

Stargate Timekeepers is an RTS that initially came out in 2024. But at its most recent showcase, Slitherine Software let us know that it's coming to consoles soon. In this stealth offering, players will guide a team of specialists through a story-driven campaign to battle the Goa'uld. You'll need stealth, cordination, and heroic abilities to bring the fight to the aliens.

And though you'll feel more immersed as a superfan of the 10-season epic, it is not necessary to enjoy the game. These are all new characters playing in the same sandbox as Colonel O' Neill and his SG-1 compatriots.

Colonel Eva McCain, who from everything I've read does seem a bit like Amanda Tapping's Samantha Carter character, leads this squad during Season 7's Battle of Antarctica. I knew there were evil forces there, the Ancient Aliens guy told me!

If you have ever played Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, this looks very similar. I'm fine with that as well. To be clear, I suck at stealth-based gameplay most of the time. I think I my code name after my first Metal Gear Solid playthrough was Solid Elephant. But I enjoy the games anyway, and with the Stargate mythos attached, this one is definitely on my list.
