It's loser's round 2 in VCT Champions Paris 2025, with MIBR taking on DRX and Paper Rex facing Team Heretics.
Two of these four teams will be headed home.
It is potentially the final shot for any of these teams to make a run for the championship, as the winners of these two matches will face each other in the loser's semifinals.
The first match of the day would be MIBR vs DRX.
Map one would be MIBR’s choice, and they would choose Sunset.
In the first half, DRX would be the one to take a huge lead into the first half, going into a 9-3 at the end of the half, but the 9-3 curse would strike again as MIBR would come back, going on a 10-1 round win streak.
MIBR would take map one with 13-10 with Aspasa taking map MVP with 25 kills, 15 deaths and 4 assists.
Map two would be on Ascent, thanks to DRX.
This map would have been a more even affair, as neither team let up and would trade rounds for both halves.
With no lead safe map two would be pushed into overtime.
DRX would take the first round in overtime by playing for pick, but MIBR would tie it up to continue overtime, but DRX wouldn’t let it go on any longer and would win the next two rounds to win 15-13 in map two with BeYN taking map MVP with 24 kills, 14 deaths and 6 assists.
Now going into map three tied at 1-1, both teams would be on the verge of elimination, and they would enter Bind as map three to be the decider for elimination.
The first half would be a nail-biting tie, with both teams going on small streaks that almost led to them securing a win, but it wouldn’t happen just yet.
In the second half, DRX would push their lead from 6 to 11, making it an 11-6 match.
Of course, MIBR would attempt a comeback, but after DRX reached match point, a comeback wouldn’t matter, and DRX would get the win 13-10 with Flashback taking map MVP with 23 kills, 13 deaths and an assist.
MIBR would get sent home, and Aspas would not be able to reach a trophy.
The second match of the day would be Paper Rex vs Team Heretics.
Map one would be Team Heretics' pick of Ascent, and that would lead to them taking the lead in the first half.
Heretics would start with an 8-4 lead on the attacking side, gradually gaining the lead.
Though in the second half, Paper Rex made sure that they would stay in this match by slowly but surely taking the lead, extending it and securing the win at 13-11.
Map MVP would go to d4v41 with 20 kills, 13 deaths and 11 assists.
Going into map two, Paper Rex would choose Bind as the second map.
PRX would start the map with an early lead of 7-5 over Team Heretics in the first half, with f0rsakeN leading his team with 13 kills, 8 deaths and 4 assists.
During the second half, team Heretics would make a comeback, by quickly tying the match up and then taking the lead.
They would extend the lead and take the win with 13-9, tying the series 1-1 and pushing to a map three.
The final map of the series would take place on Lotus, the same map on which Paper Rex won VCT Masters Toronto.
With that luck by their side, this would give them the confidence they needed to close out the match as they would beat Team Heretics with a score of 13-4, with Paper Rex’s PatMen taking map MVP with 15 kills, 8 deaths and 11 assists.
Both MIBR and Team Heretics' journey comes to an end, but DRX and Paper Rex would move on to face each other for a chance at the losers' final match to determine the second spot of the Grand Finals.
