BilliBilli Gaming (BLG) face off against Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) in this best-of-three map series.
Just like the many other teams in an elimination match, both of them are desperate to win this, and all of them have their eyes on the grand finals.
BLG have been to VCT Champions before, but for RRQ, they have never been able to touch an international trophy.
With desperation in the eyes of both teams, they would push each other to the absolute limit to get what they want.
Heading into map one, it would be RRQ with the map pick of Sunset.
Sunset is one of RRQ’s best maps of the season, but it doesn’t have a big enough impact on it with a 63 per cent win rate and just a record of 5-3.
BilliBilli Gaming starts the first half on fire, gaining the lead with a fierce offence, but it was soon thwarted by RRQ’s defence,
Both teams were evenly matched in the first half, both playing a game of chess and taking leads when they could.
The first half would end in a tie at 6-6, with BLG’s Knight leading with 14 kills and 8 deaths.
Going into the second half, both teams wanted to gain the advantage quickly, but only one team would control the rest of the match when going into the switch.
BLG would have the better defence in this map as they went on a 7-1 round win streak to win map one with a score of 12-7, with Knight taking map MPV with 20 kills, 10 deaths and 4 assists.
Heading into map two, BLG wanted to continue where they left off by sweeping RRQ with their map pick of Lotus.
BLG would have a strong record on Lotus with a 12-7 record and a win rate of 63 per cent.
After winning map one and a winning record on Lotus, it seemed like it was their map to win.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t as in the first half, RRQ would dispatch of BilliBilli’s offence by going on a 7-5 round win streak.
RRQ looked like a team possessed, and Monyet would be the one to lead this defensive assault with 11 kills, 8 deaths and 4 assists.
Going into the switch, BLG would get a nice 3-round win streak to start, but RRQ would immediately shut down the attempt of a comeback by demolishing BLG with a 6-round win streak.
Map two ended with RRQ taking the win with a score of 13-8, with Monyet taking map MVP with 21 kills, 14 deaths and 5 assists, bringing the series 1-1.
The decider map would be Abyss, and it wouldn’t last long.
RRQ would absolutely evicerate BilliBilli Gaming in 40 minutes.
The final score would be 13-4, with BilliBilli Gaming only getting four rounds in during the first half and winning none in the second half.
Leading the demolishment of BLG was Jemkin with 26 kills, 10 deaths and 4 assists.
BilliBilli Gaming's journey at VCT Champions Paris comes to an end, and Rex Regum Qeon moves on to face MIBR for a playoff spot.
