NetEase didn't have to go this hard with Deadpool, he's the character the fanboys and girls want to see. But they didn't just give us fourth-wall breaking silliness. Let me be clear, the silliness is in there, but they didn't stop there. Not even close.

As Gambit's mindblowing strategist design shows, Marvel Rivals has not been afraid to think way outside the box with these characters. Deadpool could easily fall into multiple categories. His constant healing factor makes Vanguard make perfect sense, as he's nearly impossible to kill. Duelist is an obvious fit, as the Merc with a Mouth is really, really good at murder. Strategist? I mean, if Gambit can fit that role Deadpool should as well, his healing factor is far stronger than Gambit's.

How bout this, kiddos? Deadpool can apparently play all three roles. My head is ready to explode with all the possibilities. Moreover, you can switch roles in the middle of the match by returning to spawn if something isn't working. This is a huge team player move from a character best known for his solo exploits.

Also, Deadpool's abilities can "level up" RPG style during the match, a fitting ability for a character who obviously knows when he's in a movie, comic book, or video game.

His ultimate charges faster depending on "how fancy you fight," which makes sense since Deadpool is all about showing off during combat. And that ultimate comes with a challenge that puts pressure on the target, or you, depending on how things unfold. This character is going to create all kinds of chaos and let's be honest. Deadpool wouldn't have it any other way.

Deadpool goes live at the start of Season 6 on Jan. 16.
