There are all kinds of games featuring the adventures of our favorite Marvel superheroes. But no genre may fit them as well as fighting games. Because let's be honest, when more than one of them is in the same place, it's not long before hands are being thrown. Marvel Contest of Champions has been a runaway hit on mobile platforms, with millions of summoners joining the fight. On May 15, PC players will join the brawl.
The PC version will offer graphics in full HD and 60 FPS, with an overhauled UI to optimize the game for the platform. Kabam Games is also adding crossplay, allowing players to pick the game up on one platform and transition seamlessly to another. Here's a trailer celebrating the game's PC arrival:
Contest of Champions has a roster of over 300 Marvel characters, making it the largest fighting game roster in the company's lengthy history. There are five different modes including Battlegrounds, a player-vs-player mode with hero bans, a leaderboard, and competitive rewards.
Of course, there will be some new champions joining the fray for this special occasion. Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, has had a complex life even by superhero standards. She has been a HYDRA double agent, she's been kidnapped by Skrulls, and been a member of multiple Avengers teams. Not bad for a character for a character Marvel created only because they were afraid DC would do it first.
With Thunderbolts doing its thing at the box office, you know the MCU's latest heroes were going to show up here. Yelena Belova arrives May 15.
"Few can survive the brutal training and conditioning offered by the Red Room Academy. Yelena Belova not only survived, but was their best student. Now she finds herself in the Contest, utilizing her unmatched skills and ruthless efficiency to find and eliminate her targets one by one with cold, calculated attacks."
Also, through May 23, players can log in to receive 7-day supply supply drop calendar including 6-star champions and unique rewards.
