For those not familiar with the Cajun crimefighter Gambit, he has the power to manipulate the kinetic energy of inorganic matter. In less fancy terms, he can blow stuff up by touching it. His skillset seems like he would be a natural dualist, but NetEase instead opted to make him a strategist.

If I can bring in quotes from another comic book universe, the traditional version of Gambit is not the hero Marvel Rivals needs right now. There is a surplus of damage dealers, so a little tweak to Gambit's powers is the right call to make here.

There is a little bit of a comic precedent. He has displayed accelerated healing, although not at the level of his teammate Wolverine. Logan, as he is fond of reminding us, is the best there is at what he does. After one his of own cards detonated in his face, Remy LeBeau was blind for a while. But another mutant jumpstarted his powers and allowed his sight to return.

Gambit's kit allows for so much expression on the battlefield. So much so that some players are going DPS mode with him. Please don't do that. Let the dive hero be surprised at how agile and hard to kill Gambit can be.

I guess I shouldn't be shocked, as Gambit's ability to switch quickly between healing and DPS is reminiscent of Overwatch's Moira and we all know how that skillset turns out in the lower ranks. I predict we're going to see a whole lot of highlight reel plays from Gambit in the season and the ones to come. With any luck, I'll be making a few of them myself.
