With a character as popular as Deadpool, it was always a matter of when, not if, he would join the cast of Marvel Rivals. Well, buck up, Bunky, the guy all the fanboys and fangirls want to see arrives January 16, 2026, to lead Season 6 of the popular hero shooter.
Deadpool's new trailer debuted at The Game Awards in its full fourth wall breaking glory:
It's hard to imagine a Marvel character that's a better fit for the battlefield chaos of a hero shooter than the Merc with a Mouth. Like current Rivals cast member Wolverine, Deadpool has a serious healing factor. In Wolvie's case, he needs to do damage to fill a rage meter that allows him to regenerate health after a few moments. They've done the homework already, so it wouldn't surprise me to see something similar for Deadpool.
The "hot redhead that wants to put a hole in him" sure looks like Elsa Bloodstone, a monster hunter and fairly deep cut from Marvel lore. She appeared in the Marvel TV special Werewolf By Night, but the character is far from a household name. Marvel Rivals could help her change all that.
Elsa's powers include superhuman strength, durability, agility, and regeneration. She can also project energy through her control of the mystical Bloodstone artifact. Her adventures as a longtime monster hunter have helped her gain proficiency in marksmanship, throwing projectiles, and the martial arts.
She'll be a welcome addition to the cast. Thanks to her superhuman recuperative powers and strength, she would fit as either a duelist or a vanguard, but either way, we'll find out really soon!
